HavasuOnline Handbook

Students and families should refer to Lake Havasu High School and Thunderbolt handbooks for district policies related to each school. This document refers to procedures specific to the HavasuOnline environment.

Welcome to HavasuOnline

Lake Havasu Unified School District #1 is excited to continue to offer an exceptional online education to 7th through 12th grade students who choose the HavasuOnline platform.  As an option for students that live in the state of Arizona, HavasuOnline is a privilege - not a right.

HAVASU ONLINE (HOL) utilizes the Personal Learning Platform (PLP) for content delivery.

  • PLP provides the coursework for HOL.

  • All learning is independent, and student driven.

  • Students have access to PLP 7 days a week 24 hours a day.

  • Teachers are available during limited office hours for support, but the PLP website delivers the actual instruction.

  • Student or Learning Coach (parent/legal guardian) must advocate for themselves and initiate contact with instructors for additional support.

  • HOL staff are available during normal in-person school hours only. If staff do not reply within 48 hours of messaging, students can contact the Dean of Students as a follow-up.

  • The Learning Coach is responsible for monitoring the students’ daily progress in PLP.

  • The Learning Coach must select the “log in as parent/guardian” box to utilize the PLP Student Log-in page to check grades, minutes, and pacing multiple times per week.

  • PLP Messenger/Chat is the preferred method of communication between students and staff.
